Q. The printer update didn't work, now what? (June 24, 2020)

We’ve noticed the update sent out on Monday, June 22 has been failing for a lot of users. This update was supposed to be good for the current and two previous versions of Windows 10. Unfortunately, it is not.
You will need to run the Windows 10, May 2020 upgrade first. The upgrade will take close to an hour but you may continue working while most of the installation is happening.

1. Start by going to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and clicking the Update now button. This will download the installer. In Google Chrome, it will download to a “button” in the lower left corner of your browser. This only takes a few seconds.

2. Once it downloads, click it to begin the installer.

3. You will be prompted with “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” Choose Yes.
Click Next in the installer and once it finishes, you will need to reboot.

4. After reboot, you can install the printer fix update using the directions here. https://asklibrarians.francis.edu/techhelp/faq/312717
