Q. Does the library have access to historical newspapers?

Answer

Most of our newspapers do not go back further than the 1980's.

However, the Library of Congress has a great site where you can search the full-text of many newspapers back into the 1800's. Check out the Library Congress Link provided.

Searching news covering 1980 to the present is best done in ProQuest. Go to the Databases A-Z list and select ProQuest to run a search on your topic.  Select the Newspapers limiter or facet from the left hand list of options once you are viewing your results.
